Wind Power Generation
Wind farms are typically situated in regions with abundant wind resources, often located far from urban or industrial load centers. The electricity generated by wind turbines initially operates at a relatively low voltage. To integrate this power into the grid effectively, power transformers are used to boost the voltage to levels compatible with grid connection, enabling efficient transmission of wind-generated electricity to the power network.

 

Solar Power Generation
Solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants rely on power transformers for two key functions: first, converting the direct current (DC) produced by PV panels into alternating current (AC), and second, stepping up the voltage to a level suitable for grid integration. Even in distributed solar systems—such as rooftop PV installations—transformers play a critical role in voltage conversion, ensuring the generated power either meets the on-site electricity needs of users or can be smoothly fed into the broader power grid.
